A future for Stoke | Stoke-on-Trent

Authorities’ lack of confidence in the local people of North Staffordshire is at the root of Stoke’s problems, but in his assessment of the town’s plight,  Bill Cawley is optimistic about the future.

In this response to an article by local MP Tristram Hunt,  the local blogger says authorities must stop ignoring local people’s ideas in order for Stoke to flourish once again.

North Staffordshire Regeneration Partnership plunges into crisis | Stoke-on-Trent

The regeneration of North Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent has been received a blow with two local authorities pulling out of North Staffs Regeneration Partnership (NSRP).

Pits n Pots reports that the withdrawal of Newcastle Borough Council and Staffs Moorlands Council effectively disbands the NSRP, and leaves question marks over funding and future projects planned for Stoke-on-Trent and its surrounding areas.

City to invest in new enterprise culture | Stoke-on-Trent

Regeneration leaders in North Staffordshire are to invest more than £0.5m to develop an enterprise culture in the area.

Money from the Working Neighbourhoods Fund will pay for expansion of the city’s locally-based enterprise coach team as well as grants for new businesses.

The aim is to encourage anyone with a moneyspinning idea to take the plunge and give them the best chance of succeeding.
