Trailblazing Leeds social enterprise closes due to lack of support | Leeds

A  social enterprise which provided an inner city community with its only source of fresh food has closed, according to the Guardian’s Leeds blog.

Holbeck Foods’  launched its first shop in December last year amid a blaze of publicity after winning a  city-wide entrepreneurship contest.

But a lack of community support and volunteers has forced Holbeck Foods to close its doors.

Thriving scheme seeks more land | Norwich

A successful community allotment scheme in south Norwich needs more land and new premises.

The Grow-Our-Own project at Bluebell South Allotments, which provides a platform for sharing knowledge as well as tools, seeds and plants, has expanded from eight to 150 members.

South Norwich News reports that members now need to find new premises for a centre which will house a kitchen for cooking home-grown food and a space for other healthy activities, plus more land to grow fruit and vegetables.
